Developing Your Career

1.  Worried about making the right career choice? Ask yourself some questions:

• What are my strengths?
• What are my weaknesses?
• What is my personality like and what career would suit me most?
• Do I like to work by myself or as a team member?
• Where would I most like to be in one, three, five, ten years from now?

2.  Plan Plan Plan. And break that plan down into small manageable steps.

3. Learn as much as you can about your desired career. It's a cliché but 'knowledge is power'…

• Talk to people who are already doing what you want to be doing
• Talk to recruitment consultancies who give career advice as part of their overall service
• Talk to prospective employers
• Go online
